Legal Requirements in Ayr (Scotland)
Properties in Ayr (South Ayrshire, Scotland) fall under Scottish law. The main rules are:
Every employer and self-employed person must make sure that any gas appliance, installation pipework or flue at a place of work under their control is maintained in a safe condition so as to prevent risk of injury (regulation 35). The law sets no fixed inspection interval; HSE catering guidance says maintenance should follow the manufacturer's recommendations and that, as a general rule, annual inspection is a reasonable minimum. Work on gas equipment in shops, restaurants, schools and other workplaces must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer. The rules are the same as in England and Wales.
